Pneumatics & Hydraulics
Powered Engineering knows Linear motion control. What are the primary ways to generate linear motion? Electrical, Hydraulic and pneumatic systems are Powered Engineering's specialty. Let's talk about what these linear motion technologies entail:
Pneumatics is the practice of using compressed gases (typically compressed air) to control the movement of a machine, such as extending an arm or running a drill.
Hydraulics is doing the same thing, but with hydraulic fluid which is incompressible. The advantage of hydraulics over pneumatics is that you have more power and can move much heavier objects. On the other hand, pneumatically controlled machines are often faster and more precise. Both of these methods are controlled mechanically through the use of valves which operate cylinders of some sort to perform useful tasks. Controlling those mechanical valves is however an electrical issue. At Powered Engineering, we can help you decide which method best fits your needs and give you the tools you need to control your process.
